Not all dark is the same.

You know this.

There is an all-pervading, numinous dark. It is generative of life, and a mirror of the mystery of being. It lives in our core, holds up our lives, and echoes in the dark of the night sky, the deep ocean, the black of the pupil, the thick forest, the crossroads, the warm womb.

It is a darkness that can illuminate.

At this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, Earth herself carries us gently into this great good dark. Winter Solstice draws close. Days become brief, nights cradle us long, and perhaps you’ve felt the stirring: your inner life wants to bend towards this radiant dark, like sunflowers to the sun.

Into the Dark with a Merry Band is an invitation to participate intentionally, joyfully, and with good company in this very mystery of the season. 

In our three part workshop we will approach the dark, and the light of its unique guidance for each of us through:
- working with our night dreams,
- exploring expressive writing practices, and
- the magic of good old togetherness.

We will meet for three weeks, culminating in the Winter Solstice.
